It was founded in 1852 by a Prussian immigrant, Joseph Getz, and his three brothers in Lower Lake, California, USA. The Getz Group has a diversified business portfolio ranging from biomedical, pharmaceutical, agricultural, medical devices and consumer goods.

Getz Pharma Research was initially set up in 2006. In a short span of three years it has established a newly built, world-class Research & Development (R&D) center located in Mumbai, India. Getz Pharma Research has a state-of-the-art analytical, instrumentation and pharmaceutical product development infrastructure that meets global development standards and has outstanding expertise with a team of highly qualified and trained scientists.
